- Students applying to UIC College of Medicine
- As of a week ago, UIC has returned to a policy of accepting two Behavioral/Social courses (in the same field) and one additional social/behavioral science course to meet their minimum requirements. You may use the courses listed in the BESS AMCAS classification (Anthropology, Economics, Family Studies, Psychology, Sociology) to meet this. What does this mean to you? For example, if you have two courses in Economics and one course in Sociology, this would fulfill the requirement. For more information, please see their new website here
Any student at UIUC regardless of major or college affiliation can complete course requirements necessary to apply to any of the health profession schools. Pre-Health (pre-med to those planning to go onto medical school), at the University of Illinois is not a special major, degree or a curriculum through which you will receive a degree.
